KBS 2TV’s drama “Murim School” has just released an official explanation for an unsettling scene that was shown during the January 19th broadcast of the show. The controversial scene has created an uproar from netizens in China, since their country’s currency was lit on fire and shown burning on camera.

In regards to this, a representative for the drama stated on January 20th, "We did not burn Chinese bills intentionally.  If you watch the drama, Lee Hyun Woo and Hongbin meet with a desperate and dramatic situation.  It was a circumstance in which they had to make a fire, but the only thing they had was the money in their pockets, so they ended up burning that. That's the only thing that could've happened in the story of the drama."

Hongbin plays the role of the son of a powerful Chinese businessman, but the representative continued on to say, "We are thinking of editing that scene for re-broadcasts and VOD (video on demand)."
