While speculation that girl group 4Minute is on the verge of disbandment are growing, a post by Nam Ji-hyun, the leader of 4Minute, on her Instagram account a week ago is adding fuel to such speculations from local media. Nam posted a snap of a page from a Japanese novel on her personal account.
“Well, is this it? Is this the last moment? What am I supposed to do? Having faith in my tenacious pursuit of music? Then, father, I left my stamp in history. It’s a game I failed, but the stamp remains somehow, right?” read the paragraph in the middle of the page.
The excerpt from Japanese novelist Keigo Higashino’s “The Miracles of the Namiya General Store” bodes ill in light of a series of news reports Monday that Nam’s girl group 4Minute is facing a crossroads, as the members are reportedly mulling not renewing their individual contracts with the group’s agency.
