Netizens Bring Up iKON’s Poor Performance on Korean Charts Despite Being Under YG

iKON recently had a comeback and have not been doing well on the Korean music charts. iKON’s comeback consisted of two title songs “B-Day” and “Bling Bling,” followed by a new album relases titled ‘New Kids.’ Unfortunately, iKON did not top Korean music charts and as of May 24th, both songs have ranked at #66 and #84. Although ranking in the top 100 is considered success for a group, iKON ranking that relatively low is considered a fail as they are signed under YG Entertainment, especially when compared to other YG artists. A reporter from Sports DongA touched base on the subject and blames iKON’s absence in Korea, lack of promotions, and their poor song qualities for their “failure.” Many netizens have agreed with the reporter and have called iKON just a failure in general. What are your thoughts on the situation? You can also check out both comeback songs below!
