North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has once again reshuffled key military brass, ostensibly to streamline the army but more likely to wrest powers from the unruly state-within-a-state.
Kim ordered the reshuffle of senior officers during a meeting of the Central Military Commission, the first in 10 months.
"Along with the military reshuffle, several strategically important issues were discussed at the meeting," the official [North] Korean Central News Agency said Monday. Kim was quoted as saying it is necessary "to streamline the Army to focus all its efforts on combat readiness" and "to be fully ready for any form of war… with the U.S."
