Olympus Korea Ltd., the South Korean unit of Japanese precision equipment maker Olympus Corp. said Tuesday that it launched a new surgical integration platform that will increase the efficiency of medical staff.
"ENDOALPHA" is designed to simplify the way surgeons and nurses interact with technology in any endoscopy suite or operating room as various tasks can be controlled through a single "smart" touch panel.
"User-friendly touch panel interface reduces complexity of operating multiple devices," the company said in a press release. "No function is more than a single click away which improves work flow and reduces the complexity of operating multiple devices." ENDOALPHA's video management function also allows doctors and nurses to store images and video, and share them with medical staff from outside the operating room.
"Custom-placed displays help ensure team members always have an optimal view of live images" the company said.
Olympus, established in 1919 as a manufacturer of optics products, currently is the No. 1 player in the global market for intestinal endoscopes.
