With his independent romance film 'Goodbye Summer' premiering in theaters soon, ONE sat down with the press for an interview. Within the interview, ONE confirmed that he was no longer with YG Entertainment: "I parted ways with YG Entertainment after finishing up 'Her Private Life'. This year, I want to try to focus on my music. I'm currently on my own because my contract with YG Entertainment is now over. I think that I'll currently be on my own for the time being while focusing on my music."
He also shared his original dream in the interview: "I wanted to be a director, but I was making music at the time. So the career of an actor was always something very respectable to me. When I was 17 years old, I auditioned for an independent film. It wasn't like I chose just one dream. I envisioned that I would start off with music and transition into acting, so I worked towards my dreams in that manner. I never learned how to direct before. I quit school when I was 17 years old, so I had a lot of free time on my hands. I started watching movies by Jim Jarmusch, Quentin Tarantino, and Xavier Dolan and fell in love with them. I even tried writing my own scenarios. But I started off with a light mindset. I thought that Xavier Dolan's nickname as 'The Pistol of Cannes' was so cool. I considered appearances and such back then. I liked stylish films quite a lot."
ONE's film 'Goodbye Summer' will be hitting theaters on July 25th.
