Some 4,000 vehicles manufactured by BMW, Nissan and Porsche will face a sales ban here, the Environment Ministry said on Tuesday.
An investigation by the ministry revealed that the three automakers submitted false documents or fabricated testing results to obtain sales authorization for their 10 different models.
The ministry said Tuesday that it plans to ban the sales of 4,226 vehicles, including 126 cars of their four long-gone models. The ministry also plans to fine them some W6.5 billion (US$1=W1,171).
The ministry probed all imported cars after Volkswagen's emission scandal last year.
