Park Geun Hye Hosts Rice Bread Tasting

President Park Geun-hye on Tuesday hosted a rice bread tasting for top officials ahead of a regular Cabinet meeting at Cheong Wa Dae in an apparent to move to boost the consumption of rice. "I became a home shopping host," Park said as she spoke with Cabinet officials with smile at the presidential office near a white table full of bread made from rice rather than wheat flour.
Park said rice bread is an example of creativity, noting gluten-free rice bread is a perfect solution for those who have problems digesting the gluten protein in wheat. Park said gluten-free rice bread is good for not only farmers, but also consumers. South Korea is pushing to diversify products that are made from rice, a key staple food for Koreans, amid a decline in rice consumption among South Koreans.
