Golfer Park In-bee will sit out the rest of the LPGA season after two local events in Korea in order to focus on recovering from her thumb injury, she said in a press event in Seoul on Wednesday. She will skip the KEB Hana Bank Championship, which kicks off in Incheon next week. But she will consider playing at two events at home in late October and November.
Park won the gold medal at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil in August, despite an injury to her left thumb. "I'm just out of the cast about two weeks ago, and I feel much better," she said.
When asked why she thinks Korean women excel in golf, Park said, "I get that question at least once a week from journalists from other countries, and I always tell them that I think it runs in our blood."
