President Park Geun-hye and her U.S. counterpart Barack Obama on Tuesday confirmed they stand side by side in efforts to denuclearize North Korea. The two presidents sat down on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Beijing.

Obama reportedly briefed Park on behind-the-scenes between the U.S. and North Korea to win the release of two American missionaries detained in the North. The two leaders agreed there will be no nuclear talks between North Korea and the U.S. that exclude South Korea.

They also agreed on the importance of concerted action amongst countries in order to change North Korea's behavior.  Meanwhile, Park pledged to support the Beijing roadmap to create a China-led Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific.
