Rapper Beenzino is set to enlist in the military at the end of May, according to his agency 1llionaire Records. The agency said Wednesday the rapper will start his mandatory military service on May 29 and undergo five weeks of basic military training at a boot camp in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province.
“He will spend the remaining time working on his ongoing music projects,” said an agency official.
He previously had applied to take a test for the military police force unit, which many celebrities opt for, but decided to join the army as a solider instead.
Teaming up with music producer Shimmy Twice under the name “Jazzyfact,” Beenzino is currently working on the duo’s second full-length album. It released its first full album “Lifes Like” in 2010.
He has also been dating German model Stefanie Michova. He confirmed the relationship in May 2015.
