Red Velvet Takes the Win on Inkigayo

Korean five-member girl group Red Velvet claimed their fifth win in recent days by topping SBS music ranking show “Inkigayo” on Sunday. Red Velvet‘s ballad “One of These Nights,” the lead track of mini album “The Velvet,” released on March 16, defeated soloist Lee Hi’s “Breathe” and girl quartet Mamamoo‘s “You’re the Best.”

Red Velvet members Irene and Yeri credited fans‘ support for the series of victories. Wendy expressed gratitude to Amber of f(x), who came to cheer on the group. Amber endorsed Red Velvet with a post encouraging her fans to vote for the group via her social media Sunday.

The group is riding momentum, since its first victory on SBS MTV’s “The Show” on Tuesday after they made their return week prior. They also won MBC Music‘s “Show! Champion” on Wednesday, Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on Thursday and KBS 2TV‘s “Music Bank.”

Red Velvet is a South Korean girl group formed by S.M. Entertainment. The group debuted on August 1, 2014, with the digital single "Happiness." The group is composed of five members: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri.
