Rumors of KARA's Youngji Going Solo Made Clear by DSP Media

There are rumors of KARA's Youngji breaking off of KARA and starting a solo career. Meanwhile, Gyuri, Goo Hara, and Seungyeon are deciding whether to continue on the group or break off from DSP Media. 

DSP Media has claimed on January 6 by stating, "Heo Youngji breaking off and starting a solo career is not true. While her career is important, KARA as a whole is of a bigger concern. We plan to direct the best for Youngji's career, but KARA's future is of more urgency as of right now."  

Kara was a South Korean pop girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group is composed of Park Gyuri and Heo Youngji. The group's name comes from the Greek word "chara", which they interpreted to mean "sweet melody".

Heo Youngji (born August 30, 1994 in South Korea) is a South Korean idol singer. She is known for winning the TV show Kara Project in 2014, making her the newest member ofgirl group Kara, formed by DSP Media in 2007.
