Actor Ryu Jun Yeol posted a picture of himself cheering at a soccer match between Manchester United and Fenerbahce on his Instagram account Thursday. “A young kid loved to watch soccer matches on television in the dead of night, and the kid grew up and was televised” Ryu said, referring to himself. “(The trip) ends here at ‘The Theater of Dreams,’” he added.
The match was the third match of the UEFA Europa League group stage held at Old Trafford, home of the British soccer team.
Home team Manchester United beat the Turkish soccer team 4-1 Thursday. C-Jes Entertainment, the agency of the 29-year-old actor, confirmed Friday that Ryu has long been a fan of Manchester United and is currently on a trip in London with his father.
Ryu gained stardom through the role of Jung-hwan in tvN’s series “Reply 1988” and has since acted in other films and TV series including the film “One Way Trip” and MBC’s TV series “Lucky Romance.”
