Ryu pulls a W for his season opener in Australia

Ryu Hyun-Jin pitched 5 shutout inning and picked up the win in his first outing of the season although injured his toe in the process. The Dodgers swept the Arizona Diamondbacks in a 2 game series in Australia. Ryu struck out 5 batters and gave up only 2 hits. Ruy’s injury resuled in him not being able to put much weight on his foot. The pain was visible. Dodgers manager, Don Mattingly, pulled Ryu while the team was up 5-0.
“I didn’t go as long as I would have liked,” Ryu said after the game, according to MLB.com. “I like to go more than five innings.”
