Samsung and Apple Meet to Discuss Settlement Proposals

Is it possible for Samsung’s and Apple’s longstanding court battle to come to an end soon with settlement agreements? That is what the CEO’s of the two companies hope for this January. Chief of business Shin Jong-kyun of Samsun mobile, and Apple’s CEO Tim Cook have aim to meet shortly to discuss possible proposed settlements for these age-enduring court battles. As ordered by the court, Samsung has stated that they submitted a “proposal for settlement discussions” to California’s Northern District Court.
Their global patent suits, as well as counter suits, have been going on for quite some time now, and the two hope to reach an agreement before the second round of U.S. trails start this March or April. Apple and Samsung have been just last week on January 6th to discuss proposals to end the law-suits. The two also agreed to meet within another 2 weeks to discuss possible settlements.
Although it is unclear whether or not the two can come to an agreement on the matter, the CEO’s for both companies plan to attend these meetings to see what can arise from the settlement proposals.
