Samsung launched its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in New Delhi, India on Wednesday. The company is currently taking pre-orders for the new phones, which will be available from May 5 there.
Samsung led the smartphone market in India for years in terms of quarterly market share.
But due to the debacle surrounding the combustible Galaxy Note 7, its market share plunged to 35 percent, falling behind Apple, which took 62 percent.
Samsung aims to retake the top spot with the new phones.
