Seoul Subway Crash Leaves More than 170 Passengers Injured

Korea has experienced another tragic transport accident within a period of a little more than to weeks as more than 170 passengers were injured when two subway trains collided on one of Seoul’s major subway lines.
The accident took place when one train, which had stopped between stations due to a mechanical problem, was hit from the rear by an incoming train, at Sangwangsimni Station on Subway Line No. 2 at around 3:30 p.m.
No fatalities were immediately reported. According to Seoul Metro, many injuries were caused by passengers jumping onto the subway tracks. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
