The official death toll from the Sewol ferry disaster that capsized off of the southwest coast of Korea has risen to 210. Approximately 90 people are still missing. On Tuesday, ten more bodies were found from the sunken ferry. Most of them were from the he lobby on the fifth floor and another five bodies on the fourth level.
Adverse conditions at sea continue to hamper search efforts as the currents picked up speeds of 2.4 m/s. The rescue team said they will enter all the unsearched areas in the ferry by next Monday and complete the search by May 15.
Meanwhile, to prevent bodies from drifting out to sea, nets have been set up to encircle the ferry at a distance of 7 km, 8-15 km, and 40-60 km.
