Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur scored his eighth goal of the season in the English Premier League on Saturday. With his team leading Burnley 1-0, Son came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute. After just four minutes he converted a cross by Dele Allie. The game ended at 2-0.
Son is now tied with Swansea City's Ki Sung-yueng for the most goals by an Asian player in an EPL season, a record Ki set in 2014-15. Son has about a month left to claim the EPL record for himself.
With a total of 15 goals to his name this season including Champions League matches, Son is also in sight of beating his own personal season high of 17 goals, set in 2014-15 at Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen, and Cha Bum-kun's record for the most overall goals by a Korean playing for any European side, with 19.
