Korea will be facing off against Syria in their second match of the final round in the Asian qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The match will take place in Seremban, Malaysia on Tuesday. Son Heung Min, the 24 year old player for Tottenham Hotsput in the English Premier League will unfortunately be able to participate due to returning to his club after his first matchup against China on Thursday last week.
The Korean national team and Tottenham both agreed that Son would only be playing one of the two international matches this month, due to logistical and scheduling difficulties. Syria is currently ranked 105 in the world, while South Korea is ranked at 48. Son Heung Min’s striking and dribbling skills will be missed by team South Korea.
