Korea ranked 47th out of 158 countries on the UN's 2015 World Happiness Report released Thursday, despite being one of the wealthiest countries in the world. That was a depressing six-place drop from 2013. Compiled by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the rankings are based on a variety of factors, including GDP and healthy life expectancy.
On a scale of 10, Korea garnered 5.984 points, right below Japan at 5.987. Switzerland topped the list with an average of more than 7, while Togo came last with a miserable average of less than 3 points.
