The housing market is going through a regular boom, with home sales hitting a record high last month after a series of government stimulus measures.  The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on Wednesday said 79,320 homes were bought and sold last month, the most in January since the government began tallying such figures in 2006.

Home transactions last month increased 32.5 percent over the same period of 2014 in Seoul and 35.3 percent in the provinces.  Last month's figure was also higher than the 78,798 transactions in January of 2007, at the height of the real estate boom.
