The South Korean Red Cross has selected 250 families separated by the Korean War to take part in cross-border reunions from Aug. 20 to 26. It explained Monday that it has finalized the list from 500 randomly picked candidates based on their health and desire to reunite with family members north of the border.
The list is being delivered to the North on Tuesday. North Korea will then begin its own process of confirming whether the candidates' relatives in the North are alive and available to participate.
