Son Ah-seop, a switch hitter for the Lotte Giants and one of the top free agents in Korea this year, has been garnering attention from the MLB. Son placed 43rd in "Tony Paul's top 50 MLB free agents," an article featured on Sunday in the Detroit News. "An 11-year star in Korea, his .934 OPS in 2017 was the second-best of his career. A good time to make the leap to the States," it said.
Paul predicted that Son may sign with the San Francisco Giants for a three-year contract worth US$20 million.
"I haven't decided on whether to take on the challenge in the U.S. or remain in Korea," Son said.
According to the Korea Baseball Organization on Oct. 28, at least one Major League Baseball team has requested a status check on Son.
