Kim Sei-young claimed her third title of the season in the Blue Bay LPGA at Jian Lake Blue Bay in Hainan, China, on Sunday. She wore her trademark good-luck red trousers in the final fourth round. Kim shot birdies at two consecutive holes, the 13th and 14th, to lead the field but stumbled at the 17th with a bogey to allow a four-way lead with Stacy Lewis and Kim Kaufman of the U.S. and Candie Kung of Taiwan at one-under.
Kim, Lewis and Kung were all on green by the third shot at the five-shot 18th hole, but Lewis’ and Kung's putts missed and Kim succeeded in her birdie putt from two-meter distance. Kim shot four birdies and two bogeys in the fourth round to finish two-under 286, winning the prize money of US$300,000. She is now in fourth place on the money list with US$1.72 million, and her world rankings will move up by three notches to eighth. World No. 1 Lydia Ko finished in eighth place with four-over.
