South Korean Women Soccer Team to Face U.S in World Cup Friendly

Women footballers left for New Jersey on Wednesday ahead of the FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada next month.  Korea made its first and last World Cup appearance in 2003 in the U.S. Ahead of the quadrennial event which will kick off on June 6, Korea will have a friendly with the U.S. on May 30. 



Korea is grouped with Brazil, Costa Rica and Spain. It will face Brazil on June 9, Costa Rica on June 13 and Spain on June 17.  "I'm really excited to compete at the Women's World Cup this year for the first time in 12 years. I will try my best for the players who have prepared so hard for it," manager Yun Deok-yeo said at Incheon International airport on Wednesday, just before leaving to New Jersey.
