Yuna Kim, known for her record shattering gold medal performances, will not be able to attend the following two Grand Prix Events due to an unfortunate injury to her foot.
During her training last month, Yuna Kim said noticed a distinct pain in her right foot. Tests results concluded that she suffered an injury to her metatarsal. Due to her injury, Yuna Kim will have to rest for at least six weeks before being able to begin the rehabilitation process. This could potentially remove her from the entire season in the Grand Prix Events.
Kim was originally set to compete in the Skate Canada even at the end of October, then in November, the Trophee Eric Bompard event. Unfortunately, Yuna Kim withdrew from both events due to her foot injury.
Her absence from these events is not the only setbacks resulting from her injury. It will also delay her training schedule for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games hosted in Sochi, Russia.
