Korean speed skater Lee Sang Hwa has set another world record in the women’s 500 m. She broke her own previous record to obtain this title. She clocked 36.36 seconds on Saturday in the second race of the International Skating Union's World Cup event in Salt Lake City, Utah. In the first race on Friday, she crossed the finish line in 36.57 seconds.
This is the fourth time this year she has set a world record at this distance. On Nov. 9, Lee broke her own 500-m world record by winning in 36.74 seconds at the first World Cup event of the season in Calgary, Canada. Lee set the previous record of 36.80 seconds in January by improving on the fastest time set earlier by China's Yu Jing (36.94 seconds).
