The Chicago Cubs did not extend Korean baseball player Lin Chang Yong’s contract, leaving the pitcher a free agent.  Lim signed with the Cubs last year and appeared in six games last season. He gave up six hits and seven walks over five innings and posted a 5.40 ERA. He will now have to sign a minor league contract with the Cubs or look for another club.

Lim is a right handed pitcher known as one of the fastest side arm pitchers in baseball history, recording pitches in the 99 mph range.  He had signed the with Chicago Cubs after the 2012 season and was promoted to the majors on September 4, 2013.
