Ryu Hyun-jin became the first Korean pitcher to have a starting win in the postseason of Major League Baseball on Monday. In the third game of the best-of-seven National League Championship Series at Dodger Stadium, he pitched seven scoreless innings against the St. Louis Cardinals and led the team to a 3-0 victory.
Ryu struck out four and walked one, allowing just three hits. Mark Ellis and Adrian Gonzalez hit doubles and Yasiel Puig hit a triple in the bottom of the fourth to drive in two runs. Hanley Ramirez’s hit with one out and runners on first and second at the bottom of the eighth led to one more run.
