D-Bo, Dec. 6, 2013, 3:02 p.m.
Recovering from a foot injury, Yuna Kim has stumbled out of one of the three jumping passes at the Vancouver Olympics on Friday. The Olympic and Work Champion still stood tall with her score, earning a total of 73.37 at the Golden Spin of Zagreb in Croatia. After landing a triple-triple combo, Kim was eager to impress those watching. She added a triple flip, as well as a double Axel.
Kim’s injury to her right foot prevented her from participating from 2 Grand Prix assignments earlier this year. Kim ended up having to miss 6 weeks trying to recover. Her score was higher than any program since the Grand Prix season. Second place was Miki Ando, who landed a 62.81 on the scoreboard. Ando gave birth only a few months ago, and is still skating strong, aiming to grab the gold. Ando was also the world champion back in 2007 and 2011.
