Super Junior's Shindong has announced that he will be stepping down from his position as MBC Radio's "ShimShimTapa" as the DJ after 6 years of having the position.

Shindong began the show back in April of 2008, and fans and listeners alike were surprised and saddened to hear the sudden news. SM Entertainment spoke to Star News on June 25, saying After discussing with the producers, he decided to leave the show due to military enlistment in the second half of this year as well as Super Junior's planned album." The agency also stated that Shindong had received his enlistment order in March of this year from the Office of Military Manpower Administration.

With Shindong's final days as DJ ending in July, it has been announced that the vacant DJ spot for "ShimShimTapa" will be taken over by none other than singer Jung Joon Young.

Listeners of the show commented, I'm sad I won't hear Shindong's energetic DJing anymore," "I'm used to listening to his funny stories every day at midnight," "I'll miss you, Shindong oppa," and more.
