Team Korea World Cup Uniforms Revealed

The National Korea team has revealed their uniforms to be worn during “away” games for the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil.  The uniforms are made by Nike, whom is the official sponsor of the Korea Football Association.

Nike has said that white was chosen as the base color for the jerseys, shorts and socks to symbolize the white-clad race, as Koreans were once referred to.  It decorated the right shoulder with red and the left shoulder with blue, inspired by the Taegeuk symbol.

The home kit was released earlier in February featuring a red jersey and blue shorts.

Both kits take into account Brazil's hot and humid climate. Their breathability was enhanced by 10 percent compared to the uniforms used in South Africa four years ago. Small holes in the sides of the jersey help them dry quicker when players sweat.

Korea will play as an away side against Russia on June 17, and as the home team when they face Algeria on June 22 and Belgium on June 26. As the home team gets to choose which uniform they will wear, Korea will likely don the all-white uniform against Russia, whose home kit is red.
