Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae Donate W50 Million Toward Nepal Earthquake Relief

South Korean celebrity couple Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae have donates W50 Million toward earthquake relief efforts in Nepal through Oxfam Korea. The april 2015 Nepal Earthquake killed more than 9,000 people and injured more than 23,000. It occurred at on 25 April, with a magnitude of 7.8M or 8.1M and a maximum Mercalli Intensity of IX (Violent). Its epicenter was east of the district of Lamjung, and its hypocenter was at a depth of approximately 8.2 km (5.1 mi). It was the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal–Bihar earthquake.
Tiger JK says, “When my father was ill with cancer, he really wanted to go to the Himalayas. When I heard about the earthquake this spring, I thought about my father. I wondered if I could help the people in Nepal, where my dad so wanted to visit. So we decided to make this donation because we hope it can be even a little bit of help.”
Tiger JK is a South Korean-born American rapper, record producer and entrepreneur best known as one of the founding members of hip hop group Drunken Tiger. He is the founder and former CEO of Jungle Entertainment an imprint distributed by CJ E&M. JK and Drunken Tiger are also noted collaborators of various South Korean hip hop artists, and are the basis of the South Korean hip hop joint movement known as simply "Movement" or "The Movement". He has released nine studio albums under Drunken Tiger, and continues to collaborate with that said group today.
Natasha Shanta Reid, known by her Korean name Yoon Mi-rae, is an American-born South Korean rapper and singer. She is part of the Korean hip hop crew The Movement and current member of MFBTY. She is married to Tiger JK, and has one son with him. She was selected the 12th best new female emcees dominating mics worldwide by MTV IGGY in 2011.
