Unemployed College Graduates Out Number Those Who Only Finished High School

More college graduates are out of work compared to those who only finished high school, research shows. While the unemployment rate for high school graduates dropped 0.2 percentage point from 2005 to around nine percent last year, the rate rose for college grads, from six percent to nearly 10 percent.
Analysts say this is due to the lack of quality jobs for college graduates to go after, while employers are choosing to hire more workers fresh out of high school, who are more biddable and cost less.
