U.S. Ambassador to Korea Mark Lippert held a party at his residence in central Seoul on Saturday to celebrate his son's first 100 days. Lippert made headlines by giving his son the Korean middle name Sejun. The Korean-style ceremony featured flowers, candles and brassware. James William Sejun Lippert wore traditional Korean costume and greeted guests in his mother's arms.
Lippert said Sejun is "happy and healthy" and added that his own wounds, sustained in a slasher attack earlier this year, were healing well. He also thanked the Korean public once again for their support and prayers for his quick recovery. A sign at the ceremony showed the meaning of his son's Korean name, which stood for "Se" or "to be clean" and "Jun" or "great talent and insight."
