Seoul Museum is set to exhibit “The Life of Jesus,” by the late Korean folk artist Kim Ki Chang. The exhibit is scheduled to run from October to January in honor of the 100 anniversary of Kim’s birthday. These images were painted during the Korean War as he was fleeing from North Korean invaders.
Kim was born in Seoul in 1913. Kim’s works have been widely known for blending Korean culture with western influences. Kim lost his hearing at age 8 and became half mute. He was introduced to art at 16 by his mother and used art as a form of expression.
