It has just been revealed that artist Yoo Seung Joon has officially lost the lawsuit for his second and also final trial, which was in session on February 23rd. Judge Kim from the Seoul Supreme Court stated that Yoo Seung Joon’s appeal to file a lawsuit to regain his visa was invalid, and denied the artist from returning to Korea.
Yoo Seung Joon first began his trial back in September of 2015, requesting an overseas visa through the Consult General of Los Angeles. His request was rejected, and a representative for Yoo Seung Joon stated, ‘It has been over 14 years as his visa application continues to get declined. It is his right to fight back regarding his entry into his country.’
The first trial started in September of last year, where his demands were turned down. The judge at the time stated, ‘If Mr. Yoo were to enter and resume his entertainment activities, much of the military personnel here would be deeply affected by his actions.’
In the meantime, Yoo Seung Joon had applied for a United States citizenship in January of 2002 and stated numerous times that he would ‘serve in the military’. It looks like he is currently banned from requesting any legal appeals.
