Koogle TV has learned that Yoo Seung Joon has requested to meet with the Korean Immigration Office. Yoo Seung Joon, also known as Steve Yoo, is a former Korean American pop star and one of the biggest selling artists in Korean history, selling over 5 million records in the country. Yoo Seung-jun's career in South Korea ended in 2002 due to controversies around his mandatory military service. He was known for his high-energy dancing style, rapping, and singing ability. Banned from South Korea, he has since begun an acting career in China.
His rep spoke to Ilgan Sports, revealing, "We have contacted the Immigration Office under the Justice Department. We were told to officially request for an interview review, so we plan to draft up an application and submit it around Tuesday (26th). If the interview takes place, then if possible, we would like for a face-to-face interview through video call, but if not then it could be a written interview."
Yoo Seung Joon's apology hasn't gone over all that well in Korea, with most saying that it's just too little too late. Regarding this, his reps remarked, "Yoo Seung Joon is humbly accepting all the backlash that he's received due to the wrong choice he made... He knows that even after that broadcast, the public's opinion of him isn't favorable, but he thinks that among the hateful and negative comments, there may be many who might start to forgive him."
